Choosing the lock

Which lock is right for each door?

The door, frame and escape route decide the lock, not just the reader.

Glass & escape doors

Magnetic lock (maglock)

How it works
An electromagnet holds the door closed until access is granted.
If power fails
Unlocks automatically (fail-safe), keeping escape routes open.
Best for
Glass doors, aluminium frames and escape routes.
Office doors

Electric strike

How it works
Releases the door latch electronically when a valid credential is shown.
If power fails
Can be set to stay locked or unlock, depending on the door.
Best for
Standard office doors, stores and server rooms.
Homes & suites

Smart / keypad lock

How it works
A self-contained lock opened by PIN, card, fingerprint or mobile app.
If power fails
Battery-powered, so it keeps working through power cuts.
Best for
Individual offices, apartments, villas and hotel suites.

We select locks to suit each door and its fire-escape requirements.

FAQs

Questions we hear most

About lock types, safety and smart access.

Ask on WhatsApp
Can you fit smart locks to our existing doors?

In most cases, yes. We survey each door and choose locks that fit the existing frame and hardware.

What happens if the power goes off?

Maglocks release when power is lost, so escape routes stay safe. Battery-powered smart locks keep working, and backup power can keep controlled doors running.

Can I give a visitor temporary access?

Yes. Many smart locks support time-limited codes or app keys.

Do locked doors still meet fire safety needs?

Yes. Doors on escape routes are fitted with fire alarm release and emergency break-glass units.
